We collect what we need to make and deliver your print, and a little about how the site is used so we can improve it. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use tracking cookies.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address and shipping address, what you ordered, and the town and words on your print. Payment details go straight to Stripe; we never see your card.
- While you browse: the towns you search for and the maps you open, and steps such as adding to the cart. These are tied to a random cart number, not to your name; if you place an order, that number is linked to it.
- Where you came from: if you arrive through a link with campaign tags (for example from an ad or a newsletter), we note the campaign.
- Errors: if something breaks, a report with the page address, browser type and the technical error.
- Server logs: IP addresses and requested pages, kept briefly for security and rotated automatically.
Why
To make, ship and support your order (performing our contract with you); to send the order emails and the shipping update; to keep records the law requires; and, in our legitimate interest, to understand which parts of the site work and to fix problems. We only email you about your order.
Cookies
One cookie, ar_cart, remembers your cart for 30 days. It's needed for the cart to work, so we
don't ask for consent. Our analytics run without cookies or other storage on your device, so there's no
cookie banner.
Who else handles your data
- Stripe processes payments.
- Printful, our print partner, receives your name, shipping address and email address to make and deliver your order.
- Resend sends our emails.
- PostHog provides privacy-friendly analytics and error reports, stored in the United States.
- Cloudflare delivers the website and stores the map images; Hetzner runs our server in the European Union.
Each processes data under its own data-protection terms. Some of them are in the United States.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to seven years. Everything else is kept only as long as it's useful for running the shop.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (except records we must keep by law). Email us from the contact page. If you're in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data-protection authority. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.
Children
The shop isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
